The year 2020 blasted off like a rocket into the night sky as millions watched in awe of what was anticipated to be the year of “The Vision”. Many believed it to be the redemption year. A new year that would restore the decades of lost years. A year of laughter and happiness. A year that would bring forth a newness of morning joy. The year that would set the stage of a new decade.
The stunning glare from the liftoff gave the world a gratitude of hope. Hope that would soon fade away like a balloon in the sky. Never again to return the same.
The year 2020 fell short of everything we’d hope for. The world encountered many great tragedies and an astounding death rate that soared into the hundreds of thousands, toping each day as if it was a competition. Month after month economic uncertainty, natural disasters, world conflict and political strife grew to an all time high. It was a nightmare that shook the world at its core. What was once a glimmer of hope quickly turned into mourning of despair.
The world’s morning joy grew into nights of endless sorrow. For the people had experienced more heartbreaks in the first few months of 2020 than ever imagined. Day after day we all witnessed the horror of events.
If earlier the people needed hope like they needed to breathe, they need it even more now than ever. But what is there to hope for when the future is uncertain? What does the future hold for us and what will it become? I think the better question is “Who will we become?” As life evolves, so does society. For despite the uncertainties of the future and all that we’d lost in the past, let us rise from the peak of our sufferings. From the ashes we rebuild. Through uncertainty we create.
May we bury the remains of yesterday and create the world we always needed. Goodbye 2020 and greetings to you 2021.

We’ll never have forever, so we might as well live now. How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives. If you focus on what’s next, then you could miss the most important moments of what’s now.
Don’t judge each day by the harvest that you reap but by the seeds that you plant.Robert Louis Stevenson
Can I be honest?
I’ve been strong for a while but I can feel myself losing hope.
I smile to hide the pain inside that’s bleeding from my broken and tired soul.
Not to mention that I’m way too busy chasing dreams to explore the broken pieces…..so I question should I leave it? 🤔
All gas no breaks so no time to break now.
Driven by the cares of this world, I have no choice but to press forward through this highway of no console.
Acting careless, driving wreck less, crash and burn my life is hectic.
*Alarm Bell Rings ⏰*
I’ve made it through another night of broken dreams.
I’m tired but can’t rest.
Yesterday, I gave my best.
But still today I will do better.
So, still I rise but to no surprise life throws another blow.
Blow after blow. I still stand tall. Jab Left Hook. 💢 My head hits the wall. Ring the alarm. 🛎 Here comes the fall.
🗣 “down goes Frazier”
With no strength left,
all hope weakens as my brokenness shatters.
A time for letting go really does matter.Fredrick D. Thompson, poetry in motion.
“Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 GNB
I am just an imperfect man. Born in an imperfect world.
A part of me is strong and the other part is flesh.
As a youth, I was misguided by misled people.
The truth they have never known, is no stranger to deception.
Deceived to believe in the lies of reality.
Terrible way of thinking says the closed eyed fool wondering around with no direction.
How can I paint a picture to someone blind to the truth of injustice?
Ha. They won’t understand.
Were we not taught to follow a pattern of society?
Or were we taught to make mistakes and learn the meaning of being human?
Young and Misguided was the story of my youth.
The Imperfect Man is the image of the proof.

Don’t confuse a season for a lifetime. Even the darkest night will end, and the sun will rise.
I’ve learned from life that sometimes; the darkest times can bring us to the brightest places. That our most painful struggles can grant us the most necessary growth. No matter how terrible things seem, we can’t give up, because whatever we’re battling in the moment, it will pass, and we will make it through. Life goes on. There is always hope.
Hope sees the finish line. Hope is the vision.

We can spend minutes, hours, days, and even months over- analyzing a situation, trying to put together the pieces. Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is relax. Often times we allow one bad moment to consume our minds. We begin to feed it more and more until it starts to consume who we are. But, I must warn you that if you continue to feed the negative thoughts, then you find yourself trapped within the walls of your mind.
You’ll have good moments, bad moments, beautiful moments, ugly moments, overwhelming moments, moments where everything seems like it’s coming together, and moments when everything seems like it’s falling apart.
I’ve learned that it’s okay to have a bad moment. But not to dwell on that bad moment for an extended period of time. I’ve learn to take some time to clear my mind then quickly shift my focus more on positive energy. I’ve learned to release those negative thoughts back into the universe.
You have to train your mind to be stronger than your emotions or else you’ll lose yourself every time. The truth is that the moments of our lives are only temporary. The sun will rise and you will try again. Your troubles will leave and you will smile again.
Don’t allow one bad moment to ruin your day.
Don’t allow one bad moment to ruin your life.
Don’t allow one bad moment to ruin who you are.
Never forget that…
A collection of bad moments start with just one bad moment.

The biggest enemy to peace is worrying.
We worry about things that we can’t control. We worry about the things that haven’t happen yet. We worry about tomorrow when in fact tomorrow isn’t promise to us. Honestly, the things that haven’t happen yet may never happen.
Worrying is stupid. It’s like walking around with an umbrella waiting for it to rain.
Worrying doesn’t take away tomorrow troubles, it takes away today’s peace. I think we can all agree that tomorrow has its own problems. Start living life one day at a time while taking it one step at a time. You owe yourself that much.
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 NKJV

Stop acting like you aren’t enough. You are important, you are strong, and you have so much greatness that’s locked up inside of you.
Accept who you are. You are not perfect. But, be patient with yourself and allow yourself room to grow. Remember that you are a work in progress. Don’t punish yourself over the mistakes you’ve made. Be a friend to yourself, not an enemy. You have won many battles but the war will take time. Some days will always be harder than others. But a fact that you should always remember is this: Your current situation is not your destination. Be proud of how hard you’ve worked and how far you’ve come, not just how far you have to go. Don’t compare your journey to others. Don’t worry about living up to others expectations. You are in charge on your own life. Set yourself free from all the worrying because You Are Enough!
As society evolves, so does he.
But he does not reach an apogee and stop; he evolves because he responds to society’s changing ideas and conventions.
He is less of what he was and more of who he has evolved into.
Everyone around him is trying to reach a goal, a destination, and a dream.

How can you measure the brightness of a star? A star’s brightness is measured by the amount of darkness that surrounds it. The greater the darkness, the brighter the star shines. Now imagine that you are that star but instead of being surrounded by total darkness, you are surrounded by challenges.
My philosophy is that challenges are unrecognizable opportunities that are commonly missed. Although challenges appear as unwanted difficulties that momentarily interrupt our lives, they serve a unique purpose that’s often misunderstood. You might think of challenges as obstacles that are preventing you from reaching your goals, but they are meant to move you out of your comfort zone and closer towards achieving your goals. We all have things that we are believing for. We all have dreams that we want to accomplish. Most of us have businesses that we want to start. It’s easy to get discourage when we encounter obstacles and setbacks. But those hard times are meant to better you not break you. I know that eventually you will get through whatever obstacle you are facing but you will come out of the situation different. You can go through challenges and come out bitter or you can come out better. That choice is up to you. It’s easy to give up but that challenge is an opportunity for you to grow and get better. Think of it this way, if it was easy than anyone could do it. The challenges in your life serves a purpose but it’s up to you to realize that.
The greater the darkness the brighter the star shines. For what is the purpose of a star without darkness? The same ability the star has to shine in darkness also hides within you. How can you realize your full potential without a challenge?
As he looked towards the sky with tears in his eyes he said these words, “Father, will my troubles ever end? I am constantly faced with many obstacles each day. Although, I know my purpose is worth fighting for; I begin to wonder if it is worth all that I have to endure. You know I don’t want to give up but I have no more strength left in me. I’m tired and these burdens have become too heavy to carry. Father, I can barely survive another day. I feel as if I have been in this storm for far too long. I need your help.”
Jesus came to bring you hope in the midst of your troubles.
“But the boat was now in the midst of the sea, distressed by the waves; for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night he came unto them, walking upon the sea.” – Matthew 14:24-25 ASV
But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer (“Courage”); it is I; be not afraid.” – Matthew 14:27 ASV
Life gets hard sometimes but don’t give up. It’s confusing and complicated when you can’t see your way through your troubles but God lives in trouble water. The troubles you are facing right now are only moving you out of your comfort zone and closer to the promise of God. Anytime God promises you something look out for trouble.
Beware of distractions
““Come!” answered Jesus. So Peter got out of the boat and started walking on the water to Jesus. But when he noticed the strong wind, he was afraid and started to sink down in the water. “Save me, Lord!” he cried. At once Jesus reached out and grabbed hold of him and said, “How little faith you have! Why did you doubt?”” – Matthew 14:29-31
We can become so distracted by what’s behind us and around us when our focused should be on what’s in front of us. How often do we allow our circumstances to distract us? Your circumstances and problems are only distractions. They are only there to distract you from what’s in front of you. Just like many of us I find myself distracted by my problems and not trusting God especially when I can’t feel his presence. Sometimes we feel as if God has left us during our storm but really we allow our distractions to lead us away from Him. Don’t be so focused on your storm that you lose sight of God.
Do you think God will take you through a storm just to leave you? God knows we can‘t go through our storms alone. He knew the challenges you would have to face in life. He knew the pain and suffering that you would have to go through. He knew the toxic people who would mistreat you. More importantly, He knew that no matter how hard they tried to keep you down, that they could never hold you back. He knew the difficult path you would have to travel in order to fulfill your destiny. He knew all that your journey required of you. He knew that you couldn’t accomplish your purpose by yourself. He knew that you were going to need Him at some point. God is waiting on us to realize that we can’t go through the storms in our life without him. Did He not tell you that He would be a shelter from the storm and that He would fight your battles? Key word “would” because your battles have already been won. Stop trying to figure it out when God has already worked it out. Listen, no matter how impossible your circumstances might seem, no matter how hard your trials are, no matter what situation you face in life, never forget you serve a God that’s bigger than your problems. He trusted you with your troubles now it’s your turn to trust Him. I encourage you to trust God. Give all of your problems to Him and He will give you rest. Will you trust God during your storm?
“Can say to him, “You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in you I trust.” – Psalms 91:2 GNB
It’s not the load that breaks us down, it’s the way we carry it.
“Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light.”– Matthew 11:28-30 GNB
